I haven’t even figured in the hood news
but hood dudes figure in the news… primetime.
In the crime news headlines.
So I create, poems and expectations
In better days…

Sorry mom, I realized I am a whore !!!
I hustle information on the streets, schools and adult life.
They’ve said I’m not trustworthy cause I hold no phd in deceit

It was an “assault”... but there was no knife.
Didn’t have no rifle. Didn’t carry no gun.
But behind the pierced shirt there was only a backpack with school books.

Thought about calling the cops, right away !!!
But before that, call 180 for every crying mom
on their door step watching their children get shot for carrying books as ammunition,
children killed for carrying sociology, history and equation.

The system doesn’t want me to win, just like math test,
I dind’t get a clue,
but percentages keep rising.

How am I supposed to talk about dreams ?
when kids are starving ?
For those considering too little for early childhood,
to the system ?! we got lucky.
